Every time you see something you would like to buy, stop and ask yourself if it’s a want or a need. Cut back on little luxuries. Try not to travel in peak season (from June though to the end of August & December/school holidays) and keep in mind that departing/arriving mid week can also reduce the ticket cost. Book early for the most inexpensive tickets and take advantage of student concessions. Check out STA Travel for more travel tips.
